Our Foundation Story
Hetero Plasma Sciences is a subsidiary of Hetero Biopharma, which has already established itself as a leader in the manufacturing of high-quality biosimilars. To enhance the value of our existing biosimilars portfolio, Hetero has made the strategic decision to manufacture and commercialize plasma-derived products from human plasma. This initiative is driven by the significant demand for plasma products, which serve as life-saving therapeutics for various chronic and acute life-threatening conditions.
In India, there is a substantial gap between the availability of plasma products and the demand for associated therapies. So, to align with this, Hetero has decided to address the unmet needs in critical care and other therapeutic categories. Thus, Hetero Plasma Sciences manufacturing unit was set up in Kothur, Hyderabad, India, to manufacture Plasma derived medicinal products (PDMPs).
Engineered for Precision and Safety
Hetero Plasma Sciences Private Limited is a Greenfield Plasma Fractionation project that has been meticulously designed and constructed in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines, the Schedule M requirements and other pertinent regulations. The facility's layout and equipment are strategically positioned, designed, constructed, adapted, and maintained to optimize operational efficiency. This design minimizes the risk of errors and facilitates effective cleaning and maintenance, thereby preventing cross-contamination. The facility accommodates all necessary functions for the manufacturing of plasma products.
Products Powered By Purpose
In the year 2025, Hetero Plasma Sciences has successfully launched its products:
- Human Normal Immunoglobulin for intravenous administration (5% & 10%)
- Human Albumin (5% & 20%)
These plasma products are clinically used in Critical care, Immunotherapy, Oncology, Hematology, Neurology & Pediatric segments. The successful launch of these products reaffirms Hetero's commitment to excellence in healthcare.
